The Department of English at Aoyama Gakuin University, Shibuya, Tokyo,
is now inviting applications for a full-time tenured position in
Communication Studies. Appointment will be at the rank of Professor/Associate
Professor or Instructor, depending on qualifications and experience. Ph.D
is required, as is native speaker proficiency in Japanese. The Department
of English has a full-time faculty of 36, specializing in Linguistics,
Communications, and English and American Literature.The department
offers courses leading to B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. For the present position
Ph.D specialization should be in one or more of the following areas;
 
-interpersonal communication
-intercultural communication
-journalism, media and mass communications
-semiotics
-rhetoric
 
Employment will be from April 1st, 1998. Qualified candidates should submit
a) a curriculum vitae b) a list of publications c) 3 samples of recent
publications d) names, addresses and telephone numbers of three referees.
