We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Dear colleagues,
I'm working in the library of my institute, and I need to complete
the list of periodic publication. Would you please send me information about
the publications of phonetics or phonology of Korea, India, and other asiatic
countries, and the publications of Russia, Hungary, and other countries of
Eastern Europe. Thanks you in advance.

In Kikongo, there is an auxiliary "kala" which indicates the progressiveness of
 an
action. However, its usage seems to be possible with past time reference only.
I understand Kikongo has a several centuries long tradition as a written
 language;
are there any indications that "kala" has ever been used as a present
 progressive?

Subject: Contacts required

I am currently carrying out a long-term survey of "numeral usage" in
the Balto-Slavonic languages and need contacts with native speakers
of the following languages:

    BULGARIAN
    MACEDONIAN
    SLOVENE
    SORBIAN (Upper- and Lower-)

On a different matter: can anyone advise me of suitable teaching
material (grammar books, audio cassettes, etc.) for teaching the
LATVIAN language to undergraduate students.

If anyone can help, please contact me directly at: a.r.hall at bham.ac.uk
