                            15-17 September 1996

The 4th Conference on Computational Lexicography and Text Research
will be held 15-17 September 1996 in Budapest. The aim of the
conference is to bring together researchers who are experts in both
computational linguistics and lexicography to take part in an
international exchange of current experience and expertise.

TOPICS
- ----
Complex '96 will focus on morphological, syntactic and semantic
information encoding and decoding in dictionaries. Papers dealing with
this topic are especially welcome. However, the conference is expected
to cover other aspects of computational lexicography including, but
not limited to:
           - lexical databases and electronic dictionaries,
           - building text corpora for dictionaries,
           - lexical workstations.

SUBMISSION
- --------
Extended abstracts up to 5 double spaced pages should be
sent to Ms Judit Pais (see address below) in as many as 8 hard
copies. Parallel submission by email in plain ASCII text is possible
but please note that hard copies are required. Submission deadline is
30 March, 1996. Authors will be notified of acceptance by 30 May.
Final papers not exceeding 10 pages should arrive in Budapest not
later than 30 June in order for them to be included in the
proceedings.

PRICES
- ----
The registration fee for the conference is 450DM, which
includes all conference events, a copy of the proceedings, meals,
refreshments and the banquet. As usual we have a special reduced fee
for people coming from the former "socialist" countries: 200DM or its
equivalent in HUF. All conference events will take place at Hotel
Benczur. The room prices for the conference guests are 100DM/night for
single rooms, 120DM/night for double rooms.

                        POST-COMPLEX TUTORIAL

          International Course on Computational Lexicography
                        18-21 September 1996

We are planning to organize a four day tutorial 18-21 September
(Wednesday-Saturday). The lectures will be given by prominent
practitioners of computational lexicography and will be held
9 a.m. - 5 p.m. with a lunch break. The price of the course greatly
depends on the number of interested participants. We will try to arrange a
special fee for university students.
