Instructor or Assistant Professor of Japanese Language and Culture
beginning Sept. 1, 1997. Experienced Japanese language teacher to
continue development of a program offering four undergraduate years of
Japanese language instruction. A tenure track position with teaching
at both beginning and advanced levels. It's expected that the person
will contribute one course a year to the broader liberal arts
curriculum within an existing Asian Studies Program and assist in

The Faculty of Education in Oita University is now inviting
applications for a full-time Professor/Associate Professor of English
Linguistics on the following terms and conditions.
 
1. Post: Full-time Professor/Associate Professor (Faculty member, not
part-time)
 
2. Specialization in:  English linguistics excepting ELT
 
3. Qualifications:
	(1) An experienced researcher with M. A. or Ph. D.
	(normally 15 publications will be required)
	(2) Well-qualified for guidance in the writing of M. A. theses
in the prospective graduate school M. A. courses
	(3) Age:  Less than 60 as of April 1, 1997
	
4. Start of employment:  April 1, 1997
	(Term of employment:  3 years)

	(The final candidate will be requested to submit a medical
