POSITION IN GERMAN APPLIED LINGUISTICS

Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in German
applied linguistics, effective July 1, 1997, at or near the floor
of the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern
Languages and Comparative Studies at the University of
Alberta. The 1995-96 minimum salary for Assistant Professors is
CAN $39,230.
 
The successful candidate should be capable of teaching courses in
applied linguistics and German language and should have a
demonstrated strong commitment to research in the methodology of
second language teaching. An interest in German studies would be
an asset.
 
A completed PhD or equivalent and native or near-native
proficiency in German are required. Applications, including a
resume, copies of relevant publications, and three letters of
recommendation, should be sent by January 15, 1997, to
Dr. Richard A. Young, Chair, Department of Modern Languages and
Comparative Studies, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta,
T6G 2E6.
