The following HyperCard stacks created by Tim Pulju and myself can be
downloaded from my web page:

http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~barlow/#soft

The stacks contain simple interactive exercises that can be used in
Linguistic undergrad courses.

"Indo-European roots" Allows the user to explore the paths associated with
a set of English words from PIE through Latin, Greek and Old English.

"Grimm's Law" The student has to apply Grimm's Law to Latin/Greek words
and guess the cognate English words. Hints are available on demand.

"Morphology problems" Three morphology problems of the standard
sort. The consequences of the students' choices are displayed.

"Comparative Reconstruction" A Polynesian reconstruction problem.

"Transcription" Exercises in American English transcription.

"Phonetics" Presentation and testing of vowels in American and British
English.
