Dear LINGUIST linguists,
My colleague Etienne Tiffou informs me that the son of his
principal Burushaski consultant will be coming to the US
sometime next month. The young man in question has obtained
an American green card, and thus has the right to work during
his stay. He speaks the Yasin dialect of Burushaski, which is
considerably different -- and in certain respects more conservative
-- than the better-known variety spoken in the Hunza Valley.
Anyone interested in knowing more about this should contact
Mr. Tiffou [tiffoue at ere.umontreal.ca] or myself directly by
e-mail.
Kevin Tuite
