Interested in applied research involving leading-edge foreign language
technologies?  The MITRE Corporation, a not-for-profit Federally
Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) with headquarters in

with expertise in foreign language character code standards, machine
translation tools, Natural Language Processing, FL computer-based

Assistant Professor of Spanish Linguistics, with specialization in
syntax/semantics. Tenure-track position, to start in Autumn, 1997. To
teach undergraduate courses in Spanish language, and linguistics, as
well as in the graduate linguistics program. Competence to teach in
another area of Hispanic linguistics desirable. Ph.D. required by time
of appointment.  Candidates with an active research program and
publications in their field of specialization strongly
preferred. Teaching experience desirable. Native or near-native
Spanish language skills required. Salary commensurate with experience;
