I would welcome any information on foreign language placement tests
for college students, particularly, Spanish, e.g., validity,
evaluation and assessment of the instrument, samples, correlations
with performance results, etc.

Please send any responses to mcasco at shiva.hunter.cuny.edu.

Thank you.

M. Casco

Subject: Language policy/planning of Uzbekistan

Hi,
My name is Fazilet Tokel. I am a graduate student in New Jersey
and in need of help. I am doing research on language
policy/planning on the country of Uzbekistan. I am having
difficulty in finding any current information on the subject.
Any information dated from 1990 to 1997 will be greatly
appreciated. Please e-mail me with your responses.

Subject: Query: German CB Radio Communication

I am writing a thesis on German Internet Relay Chat (IRC)
communication. I shall be comparing it to both spoken and written
German. In the course of my background reading it has come to light
that IRC communication may have more in common with CB radio
communication than either spoken or written communication.

I was wondering if anyone out there knew of any books / journal articles
or Web pages where I could find information on such a topic.

Thanks in advance,

Catherine Browning
