SYNTAX, MORPHOLOGY:

Di Sciullo, Anna-Maria, ed. (1996), Configurations: Essays on Structure
and Interpretation. Cascadilla Press.

This collection of papers addresses several fundamental questions in
syntax and morphology: how word structure and phrase structure relate
to each other, the properties of a configurational theory of argument
structure and adjunct structure, and the correct licensing requirements
and conditions of grammar.

BILINGUALISM, SOCIOLINGUISTICS:

Roca, Ana and John B. Jensen, eds. (1996), Spanish in Contact: Issues
in Bilingualism. Cascadilla Press.

This collection of papers examines the issues which arise when Spanish
(or any language) comes into contact with other languages. How do the
languages change and affect each other? How do societal, cultural, and
individual attitudes affect language use and development? The authors
look at contact situations in Spain, Latin America, and the United States.
Issues in code-switching and language planning are also discussed.

PHONOLOGY, ACQUISITION:

Bernhardt, Barbara, John Gilbert, and David Ingram, eds. (1996),
Proceedings of the UBC International Conference on Phonological
Acquisition. Cascadilla Press.

This proceedings brings together current cross-linguistic research
and new ideas in four main areas of phonological acquisition: feature
acquisition, prosodic structure acquisition, interactions of prosodic
and segmental tiers in acquisition, and instrumentation in phonological
analysis.
