Subject:   Introductory lx, psycholinguistics, linguistics and text

Mary Washington College seeks applicants for a one-year, Senior
Lecturer position in Linguistics beginning in August 1997.
Duties are teaching introductory linguistics, psycholinguistics,
and linguistics and text (using linguistic methods to analyze
texts).  Teaching load is four courses per semester.  Minimum
degree qualification is ABD in Linguistics; Ph.D. in Linguistics
preferred.  Previous teaching experience also preferred.  Send a
letter of application, curriculum vitae, official transcripts of
all graduate course work, and three letters of recommendation
to:

Linguistics Search, Box 615, Mary Washington College,
Fredericksburg, VA 22401-5358.

Deadline for receipt of materials is May 12, 1997 by 5 p.m.
