We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Dear Linguist listers,

My mom has a friend from Ethiopia who wants a 300 page book
translated from French to English. The subject of the book is the Amharic
language. The book deals with the language itself, including everything
from phonetics to vocabulary and morphology to grammar. It even includes
an etymology of Amharic vocabulary and a history of "les Kemant," (i.e.,
the Falasha, or Ethiopian Jews that many people think might be the "ten
lost tribes."). If any of you know someone who might be interested in
doing the translation, please email Clare Vann at PSMV66B at prodigy.com (Mom
and her friend will appreciate it!).

Thanks,
Rob Vann
