A couple of weeks ago I asked if anybody knew of a good up-to-date video
about the brain, for use in a senior level cognitive science course.
Thanks to Yoko Okita, Gregory Ward, and colleagues Mimi Bentley and Julia
Falk for responding. Unfortunately exactly what I was looking for, which
was something fairly high-level, with technical details about the
functioning of the brain illustrated, doesn't seem to exist, but here are
some possibilities:

(1) Scientific American Frontiers film called 'Pieces of Mind' (Jan.
1997). Narrated by Alan Alda, who also appears a lot. 10 minute segments
on split brain patients, memory, etc.

(2) The Mind series (1988) has 9 hour shows on e.g. language, thinking, etc.

(3) The Brain series (1984?) has a number of hour shows on learning &
memory, lateralization, etc.

(4) The Discovery channel had a 2 hour series 2 years ago about the brain.
>>From their web site (www.discovery.com) I learned the following:
The Brain: Our Universe Within is available on home video by calling
