Subject: Summary: Nonce formations in Italian: verbs in -acchiare, -icchiare, -ucchiare

Some time ago (sorry for this delay) I posted a question regarding
acceptability and productivity of spontaneous verb formations in
-acchiare, -icchiare or -ucchiare, such as "veducchiare" (from
"vedere"). I would like to thank once again all those who responded
to my question:

K. Pizzi
Annalisa Bracciotti	annalisa.bracciotti at dllgr.uniud.it
Hans Grote hans.grote at uni-stuttgart.de
Anna Chiarenza achiaren at ocean.st.usm.edu

I would llike to give my special thanks to

Antonella Gramone	itsaj at snow.csv.warwick.ac.uk
and
Philip Grew pgrew at compuserve.com

who gave me fantastic material.

Here are those nonce formations not mentioned in the major Italian
dictionaries and coined or "heard" by the people who answered me.

sguarducchiare (guardare distrattamente un film in TV)
sleccacchiare (leccare, detto dei gatti)
riposucchiare (to rest a little bit, i.e. for a short while)
guidacchiare (to drive an automobile (only) occasionally or without
particular skill)
lavicchiare (to wash (one's hands) a little bit)
arrangicchiare (to just barely get by or to eke out a paltry existence)
pieguzzare (to fold (carta origami) minutely)

Thank you all

Elmar
