Subject: Agreement & Word Order in Aphasic Patients

It is often reported that aphasic patients frequently make subject-verb
agreement mistakes (i.e. mismatches in person, number and gender
markings on the subject and the verb) while their word order is largely
unimpaired (e.g. V2 with finite verbs, V-last with nonfinite verbs in
German). I would be very grateful for any reports on this issue, both
from your own ongoing research and from the published literature (beyond
Menn & Obler). Especially helpful would be quantified results with
specifics on the type of agreement mistakes (nonfinite instead of
finite? singular instead of plural? etc.). Thank you very much.

Bernhard Rohrbacher
