I am presently researching how the print media used linguist's
expertise in their coverage of the Oakland School Board's Ebonics
resolution.

As part of this research I am collecting information from
linguists who sent letters to the editor of any newspapers.

If you sent a letter to the editor, I'd appreciate your
sending me an e-mail with the following information:

1. the name of the newspaper
2. whether or not it was published.

Additionally, if you still have the letter and would be
willing to send it to me, I would appreciate that as well.

I am trying to locate a quote by Alec Marantz in which he states that
overt inflection and overt verb-raising are not related in minimalism.
I have been unable to locate this in any publication. Thanks.

Subject: Sound change in Spanish

Hello,
I am doing an study on a sound change that seems to be taking
place in a dialect of Spanish. It seems that [tS] palatoalveolar
affricate as in English "child" is changing to [ts] a dental or
alveolar affricate as in the final sound of English "cats". Does
anyone know of any other languages in which this change has taken or
is taking place? Thank you in advance,

Monica Prieto
