EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY

Assistant Professor of English, tenure-track, starting August 16, 1999.
Ph.D. in English linguistics or linguistics, with secondary
specialization in applied linguistics (TESL, second language
acquisition) and evidence of scholarly potential.  Teaching loads (3-3)
may include undergraduate and graduate courses in linguistics, grammar,
K-12 ESL methods, and composition.  Active research program and
appropriate professional service are expected.  Screening begins
February 15, 1999 and will continue until the position is filled.  Send
letter, vita, one-page statement of teaching philosophy and research

JOB OPENING IN ENGLISH LINGUISTICS AT KAGOSHIMA UNIVERSITY

There will be a job opening available at the department of English
and applied language studies, faculty of education, Kagoshima
University (south of Japan).

We need a qualified professor of English linguistics who will be
60 or 61 years old at the beginning of April, 2000.

The candidate will teach English linguistics and related course
subjects at the graduate school which will be established in
April, 2000.
