ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

Syntaxis
New International Journal for the Study of Syntax
Editor: Montserrat Martinez Vazquez (University of Huelva, Spain)
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 1998 the University of Huelva Press will start publishing
a new international journal: Syntaxis.

Syntaxis will be a forum to report results of research in the
area of syntax. It will accept for publication high-quality
papers following any approach to syntax --functionalist or
formalist. Both synchronic and diachronic studies will be
accepted, as well as analyses of one particular language or
cross-linguistic studies. Papers dealing with the acquisition
of syntax will also be considered for publication.

One of the goals of this journal is to serve as a medium for
the transaction of ideas between linguists working within different
theoretical frameworks. Thus, honoring its Greek name Syntaxis which means
"putting together."

Further ideas for the journal are welcome from all members of
the international community of syntax scholars.
