We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

I have collected some data about languages that use reduplication in
certain functions. Some of my sources are, however, implicit about the
language itself or do not mention where a specific language, so to
speak, belongs. Could anyone tell me to which family one or several of
following languages belong and/or where they are principally spoken in
general geographical terms (e.g. West African, Indonesian, etc.\255?
It would also be useful to know if a specific language is regarded as
a pidgin or creole. These are not mentioned in Campbell's _Compendium
of the world's languages_.

Agta
Bahasa
Kinande
Lardil
Maranungku
Marshallese (Marshall islands?)
Mokilese
Pangasinian
Tangale
Tarok

Much thanks for any help!

Dear subscribers: Could anybody tell me the etymon of the words Benin
and Bantu? Is it correct the information that Benin is a Yoruba word
for a people with Yoruba culture? And that Bantu is (a)ba 'plural' +
ntu 'man' in Yoruba?

Thank you very much
Carlota

On January 11th, I sent a message but inadvertently wrote my phone
number inaccurately. This message is to correct that.

Is there someone who has a used copy of Speech Science Primer,
Physiology, Acoustics and Perception of Speech by Gloria J. Bordon and
Katherine S. Harris, and can find it in their heart to part with
it. I know how difficult it is to part with linguistic books of any
kind.

My name is Rosalie Schwartz. You can email me at RSchwa6866 at aol.com or
telephone 718-499-4455.
