The English Department at Colorado State University has a tenure-track
faculty of 45, approximately 410 majors, and over 120 graduate
students. We appoint more than 40 graduate assistants who teach
expository writing, English as a second language, computer-assisted

development. A Master of Fine Arts is offered in creative writing.

The MA/TESL Program

CSU's English Department offers a Master's degree in English with a

students have earned Master's degrees in TESL in the last ten years.
Graduates are professionally involved in English language teaching in
public schools, in university-based programs, and outside of the U.S.

The Intensive English Program

The Intensive English Program offers year-round academic English
instruction to an average of 100 students per seven week term. In
1996, these students represented 34 countries. Students at the
advanced level may study English and academic classes at CSU
concurrently. In addition to offering academic preparation, the
Program provides business and professional English language training
for special programs. A media lab with a video room, listening
stations and a 22 station computer lab gives all students in the
program access to the Internet and email. The IEP offers a home-stay
program, conversation partners, and a wide variety of field trips and
