Direct Language Communications, Inc. (DLC) is a fifteen year-old,
rapidly growing private company that provides its clients, primarily
large international companies, with comprehensive multilingual
communication services in over fifty languages. DLC presently consists
of approximately 65 full-time employees, although this figure is
growing as revenues continue to increase dramatically. DLC's team
members are dynamic, multilingual and client service-oriented.


DLC is seeking excellent proofers to join its team on a full-time
basis, working in our downtown San Francisco office. Responsibilities
will include proofing and editing documents; reviewing material for
cultural appropriateness; incorporating client edits and surveying
format proofs.


Qualifications:


-Expertise in French, Chinese, Japanese, or Spanish. Must be a native
speaker.

- Superior written and verbal communication in Native Language and
English, comfortable in a               multicultural environment.

-Linguistic and/or translation background a must.

-Excellent memory; ability to follow instructions precisely

-Strong grammatical skills; attention to detail a must

-Computer literacy; computer and modem for working from home

-Schooling (through high school) in native language/country of origin

-College Degree (not necessarily from country of origin)

Subject:  Computational Linguistics Job at Rutgers-New Brunswick

Computational Linguistics Position for Fall, 1998 at Rutgers

The Department of Linguistics at Rutgers, The State University of New
Jersey, at New Brunswick, is soliciting applicants for a possible
tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, with
the appointment to begin in Fall, 1998.

Candidates for this position must have the Ph.D. and a specialization
in computational linguistics. We welcome candidates with primary
interests in areas like learnability and/or parsing, among others, as
seen from the perspective of a research program closely related to
issues in current linguistic theory. The candidate is expected to be
able to bridge between linguists and other cognitive scientists at
Rutgers.

Applications should include a CV, a statement of research
interests, samples of recent work, and three letters of reference. The
deadline for receipt of application materials is June 15, 1998.
