Momoyama Gakuin University (St. Andrew's University), a private university
in Osaka, Japan, has a tenured position opening 1 April 1999, for someone
to teach courses in semantics and in pragmatics, as well as--as is standard
in Japanese universities--some classes in EFL. A detailed announcement, in
Japanese, is available on the Monbusho home page--
http://nacwww.nacsis.ac.jp -- but I will say here that the job is not
limited to Japanese nationals, although fluency in Japanese sufficient to
conduct academic lectures, participate in faculty meetings, etc., is
required. I will be glad to answer unofficial questions, but I should
stress that I have no official standing; formal inquiries as well as
submission of cv, publications, etc., should be done with the information
given in the university's announcement on the web.
