Graduiertenkolleg "Integriertes Linguistik-Studium"

Ausschreibung:

Im Graduiertenkolleg "Integriertes Linguistik-Studium" werden Anfang
1999 sieben Doktoranden-Stipendien sowie ein Postdoktorandenstipendium
vergeben.
Das Kolleg ist thematisch auf allgemeine und theoretische
Sprach-wissenschaft ausgerichtet, bezieht aber auch Forschungsvorhaben
aus angrenzenden linguistischen Disziplinen wie den Einzelphilologien,
der Sprachphilosophie, der Computerlinguistik und den
Kognitionswissenschaften ein.

Die Foerderungsdauer betraegt im Regelfall zwei Jahre. Voraussetzung
fuer die Bewerbung ist ein qualifizierter Studienabschluss bzw. die
Promotion in einem dieser Gebiete.
Bewerbungshoechstalter: fuer Doktorandenstipendien in der Regel 28
Jahre, fuer das Postdoktorandenstipendium 35 Jahre.

Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics/TESL

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Victoria invites
applications for a tenure-track position in Applied Linguistics and
TESL/TESL methodology at the Assistant Professor level, starting July
1, 1999. Applicants must have a PhD in Linguistics, teaching
experience at the university or community college level, and
demonstrated research potential; experience in curriculum design would
be an asset. The successful candidate will teach courses in Applied
Linguistics, TESL/TEFL methodology, and second language acquisition,
and will also be responsible for administering and supervising
practicum placements for the Departmental programs in Applied
Linguistics and graduate student supervision. The salary floor for an
assistant professor in 1998/99 is $45,000.
