Hello, I am interested in conducting some intelligibility studies in
spoken English, and I'd like to know if anyone on this list has
familiarity with the CSRE software system, what you may think of it,
and what your opinion is of its reliability in conducting
strucuturally valid research. I found it at:
http://www.avaaz.com/csre.html

I'd also like to know if you could direct me to a good online resource
list for previous intelligibility studies in English, as well as
research into the way listeners seem to be able to decode "sloppily"
pronounced or mumbled "speech," apparently through the use of various
clues (e.g. context, inflection, body language, etc.).

Thank you,

John L. "Jack" Johnston, M.A.
