This is to advertise research studentships available at Middlesex
University to start this academic year (1999-2000). One of the possible
areas is "linguistics, especially pragmatics, semantics and stylistics". This
is the main bit of an ad which will be appearing shortly in the Times
Higher Education Supplement and the Guardian. I'd be happy to discuss
the studentships informally with anyone who is interested.
