Subject:  Assistant Professor, The University of Florida Linguistics Program

The University of Florida Linguistics Program invites applications for
a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The
appointment would begin Fall 2000. The candidate should have Ph.D. in
hand by January 2000 with a primary focus on syntax. We especially
welcome applicants with expertise in cognitive studies, computational
linguistics, or semantics.  The person filling the position will be
expected to be active in research and publication, to meet standard
program teaching requirements (2 courses per semester), and to perform
service duties as required by the Program, College, and
University. Only applications received by February 1, 2000 will be
given consideration. Send dossier including letter of interest, CV,
three letters of recommendation, and a sample publication to Mohammad
Mohammad, Linguistics Search Committee Chair, PO Box 115454,
University of Florida, Gainesville, FL 32611-5454.  Salary 37-43K/Yr.
