POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS IN COGNITIVE SCIENCE AT RUTGERS
UNIVERSITY, NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ

The Rutgers Center for Cognitive Science (RuCCS) announces the
availability of POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS, funded through an NIH
Institutional National Research Service Award.  These fellowships are
designed to provide a unique opportunity for interdisciplinary
experience in cognitive science, with emphasis on language and vision.
Preference will be given to applicants whose background fits with and
complements the areas of specialization of the Center (see
http://ruccs.rutgers.edu)

ELIGIBILITY - applicants must be a US citizen or permanent resident and
must have completed their degree requirements at the time of the award.

University of Michigan Department of Asian Languages and Cultures
seeks candidates for Korean Language Lectureship

The Department of Asian Languages and Culture seeks to appoint a
full-time lecturer of Korean for the Fall Semester of 1999. The
initial appointment will be up to three years with the possibility of
renewal.  Applicants are expected to have native or near-native
fluency and at least the M.A. degree in Korean, Language Pedagogy,
(Applied) Linguistics or related areas, or equivalence. Preferences
will be given to applicants with successful and innovative teaching
experience in a large university setting with diverse language
backgrounds.

Appointees will be expected to teach modern Korean at any of the three
levels, elementary, intermediate and advanced, and to train graduate
teaching assistants. The classroom teaching hours will be 10 to 12
hours per week. Send applications including a curriculum vitae,
statement of objectives, and three letters of recommendation to:
