1. Syntax.

The Department of Linguistics at Harvard University has been
authorized to make a one-year appointment in generative syntax or the
syntax/semantics interface at the rank of Lecturer on Linguistics for
1999-2000. Three years post-doctoral teaching experience preferred.
Applicants are requested to send a detailed curriculum vitae (including a
complete bibliography) and have three letters of recommendation forwarded
by the deadline of Friday, February 19, 1999, to

3. Applied and theoretical linguistics.

1999-2000 at the rank of Lecturer on Linguistics.  Candidates must
demonstrate expertise in a linguistic subfield or subfields outside the
core areas of theoretical phonology and syntax.  Areas of interest include
but are not limited to semantics, language acquisition, and
sociolinguistics. Applicants are requested to send a detailed curriculum
vitae (including a complete bibliography) and have three letters of
recommendation forwarded by the deadline of Friday, February 19, 1999, to
