The Department of English at the University of Tromso expects to have
approx. 8 full scholarships for study in a new graduate linguistics
program. Students who successfully complete the program will earn the
degree of Master of Philosophy. This is a two year graduate program, with
one year of coursework (4 seminars, taught in English) and one year for
preparing a thesis. Applicants should have a B.A. (or equivalent), with
considerable coursework in linguistics. There is no tuition for any
candidates accepted to the program; furthermore, students from Central &
Eastern Europe and underdeveloped countries are eligible for the
scholarships mentioned above, which are adequate to cover living expenses,
plus a modest travel allowance. Details about these grants are available at
http://www.lanekassen.no/stipend_og_lan/forskrift/chapx.htm.

The deadline for application is very soon. Please contact me for more
information about the program or the application procedure.
