Subject: White paper on the computational processing of Portuguese

Dear all,

We would like to inform you that we have renewed our web pages on the
computational processing of Portuguese in order to make them more user
friendly. The URL is unchanged: http://www.portugues.mct.pt/

There is also a first draft of a white paper discussing the state of
NLP in Portugal with some suggestions of how to proceed in the
future. We are particularly grateful for comments and suggestions from
everyone interested in the computational processing of Portuguese.

There will be an open meeting to discuss the contents of the white
paper in Lisbon on Saturday 17 April (at the Forum Picoas, auditorium
2, 10:30 - 17:00). International experts and observers will take part
in the discussion.

We hope to see as many as possible there!
Signe Oksefjell and Diana Santos

I have just released Version 1.00 of CASylTeX, a package
for typesetting text in Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics in
TeX/LaTeX/LaTeX2e.

This version handles Cree and Inuktitut. Support for
other languages will be added in later versions.

The package, which consists of four files (a fount, a
style sheet and a user's manual in LaTeX2e and PostScript),
can be found on the CTAN servers in /tex-archive/language/casyl.

Comments very welcome.
