I'm now majoring in pragmatics, and my present topic is 'the
realization patterns of the speech act of request in Chinese'. Is
there anybody having interest in it? All opinions are welcome.

Thank you!

I am trying to find the exact reference for a review written by Paul
Postal of Robert Longacre's _Grammar Discovery Procedures_. Any help
would be much appreciated. I think that it appeared in IJAL.

Dear colleagues.

I would be interested in obtaining a list of agencies/companies in the
United States that are specialized in recruiting English-speaking
informants (in the USA) for language-data-collection projects
(projects with 100+ participants).

Please reply directly to <billings at uni-leipzig.de>.

Thank you in advance.

Best,
Loren Billings

I am looking for books showing English Word Roots within English
Words. Not Latin nor Greek roots. Books specifically limited to
roots and their corresponding family of words containing them are most
pertinent; rather than discussions of roots and incidental references.

Thanks,
Jack Williams
