Does anyone have any interesting statistics on the estimated number of
decreases in the world's total number of languages during recent times
(during, say, the past 25, 50, or 100 years)?

In computational linguistics at Erlangen, we are currently building an
on-line collection of programming problems. In this connection I am
looking for a nice little parser for basic (classic, bidirectional)
C-grammar. It should be suitable to demonstrate how the grammar and
the parser work together, using simple formal languages (cf) like a^k
b^k and simple sentences of English. If you have such a system, would
it be possible for us to use it? If you know of such a system, would
you please let me know?

Thank you very much,

Roland Hausser

Hello.

I am a second year Linguistics student at the University of York doing
a project on object drop in a dialect of British English. I am also
looking at prepositional complement omission in the same dialect.

If anyone can suggest any appropriate references or avenues of
enquiry, I would sincerely appreciate it.

Thank you

Kate Torode
