Subject:  French Linguistics at Florida Atlantic University

The Honors College of Florida Atlantic University seeks to fill a
tenure-track position in French at the level of Assistant or Associate
Professor. Competency to teach Spanish language highly desirable. The
successful candidate will teach lower and upper division courses in
language, and in linguistics, literature, or culture and be interested
in exploring interdisciplinary approaches to the study of languages.
Opened in August 1999, the Honors College is a highly selective
liberal arts college within a state university. It offers a four-year
curriculum centered on the traditional disciplines in the liberal arts
and sciences, with an emphasis on critical thinking, independent
study, community-based internships, and cross-disciplinary programs in
areas such as environmental and international studies. For further

. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in French, native or
near-native fluency in French and Spanish, evidence of excellence in
undergraduate teaching, and potential for quality scholarship. To
apply, submit a letter of interest that summarizes your
qualifications, teaching philosophy, research interests, and that
addresses how you can contribute to the enhancement of the Honors
College community; as well as a current curriculum vitae, and names,

electronic dictionaries and grammars.

DANISH - NORWEGIAN - SWEDISH - FINNISH - POLISH - HUNGARIAN

Candidates should be fluent (native or near-native) in one of these
