Subject: Speech Analysis Software for the Mac

I am about to buy some speech analysis software for the Mac, and after
speaking to several colleagues and reading past postings on LINGUIST, I had
just about decided on Signalyze. However, a couple of people pointed out
the following problems with Signalyze: clicks when recording, near
impossibility of importing/exporting sound files, can only deal with one
file at a time, maximum about 30 seconds length.

I am wondering whether anyone else out there has had these problems, knows
how to avoid/solve these problems, or could suggest better software.

I want something relatively cheap with which to perform basic
spectrographic analysis. I'll be running it on a Mac with 64MB RAM and a
4GB hard drive. I'll be recording on regular audio cassette so the software
has to be able to digitise this.

Cheers, and thanks in advance,

Rob

Hi everybody!
I'd like to do research on Chinese-Spanish machine translation, but don't
know whether there are bilingual corpora with this combination or not. Any
other related information (segmenters, parsers, taggers, sentence alignment
tools, rule extraction, electronic dictionaries, evaluation, etc.) would be
a great help.
Please answer to me directly, and then I'll post all the answers.
Thanks!
Paco
