Subject: Test Specialist - Law School Admission Council

Law School Admission Council (LSAC), an educational service
organization that develops and administers the Law School Admission
Test (LSAT), is seeking a Test Specialist.

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the review
and revision of informal and deductive reasoning test questions for
the LSAT. In developing such questions, Test Specialists must
consider both the quality of the questions and their sensitivity to
the diversity of the LSAT population. Other duties include
participating in the review and development of informational and test
preparation materials. The successful applicant may also participate
in and apply research related to the LSAT.

Educational qualifications include an MA in Philosophy, Linguistics,
or some related discipline requiring strong reading, reasoning, and
analytical skills. A Ph.D. or doctoral-level work is preferred.
Training in formal and/or informal logic is required, preferably at
the graduate level. A broad background in liberal arts and experience
in college teaching, editing, and/or test question construction are
desirable. Precise and articulate use of the English language,
demonstrated organizational skills, the ability to work independently,
and the ability to meet deadlines are necessary.

Salary and benefits are highly competitive. We are seeking applicants who
are available as soon as possible. Interested applicants should
send/fax/e-mail a letter of application, a vita or resume, and a list of
references to: Ms. C. Rommel,
Human Resources Section, Job Code: TS, P.O. Box 40, Newtown, PA 18940, FAX:
215-968-1169, E-mail: employment at lsac.org <mailto:employment at lsac.org> .
The deadline for application is January 15, 2000.

Law School Admission Council takes great pride in its dedication to
being an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. We encourage
applications from women and members of minority groups.
