CALL FOR LANGUAGE AND GENDER SYLLABI.

The LSA Committee on the Status of Women in Linguistics (COSWL) is
updating its collection of Language and Gender Syllabi (available at
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jlawler/gender.html). This collection,
created in 1993 by Beth Hume and Bonnie McElhinny, has been a valuable
resource for teachers and students of language and gender courses. Since
1993, scholarship on language and gender has continued to grow, as has the
number of courses offered in this field. COSWL is thus in the process of
updating the collection. If you have taught (or are going to teach) a
course on language and gender, and are willing to share your ideas, please
send your syllabus (and any assignments or comments on teaching the
subject) to Scott Kiesling <kiesling at ling.ohio-state.edu>, preferably as
an email attachment in ASCII text or RTF format. If you have your syllabus
posted on the web, please just send the web address, and we'll include a
link at our site. Please include the following statement for legal
purposes: "I authorize the LSA to make available materials for my course
<COURSE NAME>, taught at <INSTITUTION>, for the use of other scholars. I
retain copyright to all original material." If you have any other
questions or suggestions, please email Scott.
