The Department of Languages and Literatures at Inter American University
of Puerto Rico, San Germán Campus, has recently advertised a
tenure-track position.  This appointment is for August 2000.

The individual selected should be able to teach the following: ESL
undergraduate courses to Spanish-dominant students, undergraduate
writing courses to ESL and native speakers of English, and TESL and
linguistics courses at the undergraduate and master of arts levels.  The
regular course load is 15 credits each semester.

The appointee should have a doctorate in TESL, applied linguistics, or
linguistics.  The person should also have native or near native fluency
in English, and preferably, basic fluency in Spanish.

The Search Committee will begin reviewing applications on May 17, 2000,
and will continue until a suitable candidate is found.  Please send a
letter of application, curriculum vitae, at least three letters of
recommendation, and official transcripts.
