Hello,

I am looking for lists of Spanish verbs
categorized according to the semantic properties of the complements they take:
lists of psych verbs, true reflexives, verbs that take ProArb objects, etc. In
effect, I am looking for something similar to Levin's lists of verb classes
(English), but for Spanish, the goal being to identify verbs that take human
subjects and human objects.

Thanks to any who might be able to help.

Margaret Salome

Deborah Vega, a Speech Pathology student at my college, is looking
for bibliography and contacts with specialists in Spanish in the US,
including Speech Pathologists.
Please contact her directly at <dav at sunmuw1.MUW.Ed>

I want to discuss the characteristics among different dialects of
Latin American Spanish among immigrant groups in the US. If possible
I would like to study 3 subgroups of Hispanics - Mexican, Cuban,
Puerto rican, etc... From this information I want to develop materials
and a plan specific to each group that Speech Pathologists can use to
accomplish accent reduction. I will then use the plan I develop and
test it using 5-10 subjects from each group studied and see how
effective each plan was in accomplishing accent reduction.

I would appreciate information on materials, books, articles, etc.
that discuss dialect differences among Hispanics. Any contacts with
specialists would be wonderful!!

Thank you very much again
Deborah
