Position: Linguistic Quality Assurance Manager  (Tokyo, Japan)

The Tokyo office of eTranslate, Inc. is seeking a Linguistic Quality
Assurance Manager to provide leadership and methodology to the
operation of the linguistic department in Japan.  The QA Manager will
be responsible for pre-production linguistic analysis, assessment of
quality, linguistic department staffing, and communication with
clients, vendors and contractors.  This challenging and exciting
position will be a key role in the development of our rapidly
expanding Tokyo operation.

Responsibilities:

* Organize and direct a Linguistic Quality Assurance Department,
including controlling and documenting in-house editors' quality
results, and managing staff requirements
* Ensure overall linguistic quality through process control, sampling,
and management of linguistic resources
* Communicate with clients, vendors and contractors on linguistic
issues at all stages of production including glossarization, prepping,
and post-production quality feedback
* Supervise all quality assurance procedures including prepping,
linguistic analysis, and approval of glossarizations

Qualifications:

* Academic background in Linguistics
* Minimum of 5 years experience in the translation industry
* Excellent management skills; proficient with MS Office; and
detail-oriented
* Excellent knowledge of the English and Japanese languages (oral and
written)
* Multicultural experience
* Live in the Tokyo area
