		BOUND PRONOUNS

A workshop to be conducted in conjunction with the conference on The
Syntax of Semitic Languages and its Interfaces, Department of Linguistics,
University of Southern California

Date: May 3, þ2001þ

Invited speakers: TBA

What is the status of bound pronouns in the grammar? How are they
derived? What are the conditions on their licensing and interpretation?
What do they contribute to the syntactic and semantic structures of
sentences?

>>From the perspective of recent developments in grammatical theory,
many of these issues have acquired new significance. It is for this
reason that the Department of Linguistics at the University of Southern
California, in conjunction with its conference on the Syntax of Semitic
Languages and its Interfaces, will be hosting a workshop devoted to the
topic of Bound Pronouns.

Abstracts are invited for 30 or 40 minute talks (plus 15 minute
discussions), touching upon any aspect of the topic of Bound Pronouns
including, but not limited its syntactic and semantic ramifications.

Hard copy submissions:
Please send 5 copies of an anonymous abstract, at most
2-pages long (including examples and references). Please
enclose a 3x5 card with your submission stating name of
paper, name of author, affiliation, and address (including
e-mail address, phone number, and fax number, where available).

Hard copy submissions should be sent to:

PDF files to: lc01 at aub.edu.lb
If special fonts are used, please include the fonts file
