Job Summary:
As a Human Factors Engineer, this person is responsible for the design
of advanced interactive natural language dialogues to speech enable
NetByTel's telephone-based E-Commerce applications.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

·Working closely with Speech Recognition Application Engineers, develop
 dialogues and grammars to enhance speech recognition accuracy

·Development of modular dialogue components designed for reuse in
 multiple applications paying particular attention to attitudinal styles
 of dialogue and speech quality in discourse to promote a signature style
 of consistent personality across NetByTel’s applications.

·Oversee a human factor testing, analysis and dialogue changes to
 continually enhance and improve speech recognition accuracy and
 usability.

Previous Skills and Experience Desired:

·Expertise in linguistics and knowledge of phonetics desirable.

·Real world experience in application development environment, with
 exposure to applied computational linguistics a plus.

·Experience in industry in areas such as technical documentation also
 considered highly relevant.

·Some experience with a programming language (such as Perl, C/C++, VB,
 HTML, etc.) highly desirable but not necessary.

·Three to five years of related technical professional work experience.

Education Desired:

·BA or equivalent experience in linguistics (or related field such as
 computer science with specialty in natural language processing)

Additional Requirements:

·A strong motivating interest in speech user interface necessary.

·A talent for meticulous attention to detail and ere towards
 perfectionism required.

·Must be self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.

·Must possess strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

·Must be willing to work extra hours as required.

·Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, communicates
 effectively, and works independently and in a team.
