DYU English Language Department Openings

The English Language Department at Da-Yeh University has several
full-time openings beginning Fall 2000.  Our undergraduate and masters
programs emphasize practical English skills, particularly English
teaching and business English.  If you have a PhD or masters degree
(and possibly work experience) in a field related to language or
management, please read on!

AT OR ABOVE THE LEVEL OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR,
there are openings for any applicant with a PhD and
a strong publication record in Linguistics, English
teaching, English literature or Management (6 positions)

OR

a PhD in Lignuistics, English teaching, English literature or
Education and substantial experience in teaching English to
children (1 position).

AT OR ABOVE THE LEVEL OF LECTURER, there are openings for
any applicant with at least three years of hands-on experience in
international trade in Taiwan and a Masters degree or PhD in
Linguistics, English teaching, English literature or Management (1
position)

OR

at least two years of experience in teaching Chinese as a
foreign language and a Masters degree or PhD in Linguistics,
English teaching, English literature or Education (1 position)

OR

at least two years experience as an English/Chinese
interpreter and a Masters degree or PhD in a related field.

Though Masters candidates are eligible to apply for the latter three
positions, PhDs are preferable.  All work experience must be formally
documented.

Subject:  TESOL: Assistant/Associate at Florida International Univ.

Assistant/Associate in TESOL Education: earned doctorate in TESOL,
applied linguistics, or closely related field; display of teaching
excellence, minimum of two years university teaching of ESOL teacher
training courses; experience in developing/teaching doctoral level
courses essential. Preferred qualifications: proficiency in one of the
major foreign languages of the local community- Spanish, Haitian Creole
or Portuguese. Area of expertise should complement the following: ESOL
methods, principles of ESOL testing, ESOL curriculum development,
developing ESOL language and literacy, cross-cultural studies, ESOL
practicum and applied ESOL grammar. Other TESOL-related coursese are
taught by linguistics faculty inthe College of Arts and Science.
Responsibilities:teach graduate TESOL teacher preparation courses.
Additional duties include student advising and cooperative program
