Essential
1. A record of successful tertiary teaching experience in the areas of
bilingualism/languages in contact and second language acquisition.
2. A PhD in a relevant area.
3. Experience in postgraduate supervision in the fields identified in
(1).
4. A strong research and publication record.
5. Evidence of the ability to work cooperatively in the development and
implementation of linguistics subjects and degree programs.
Desirable
- ability to teach phonetics and phonology and/or sociolinguistics
and/or child language acquisition.
- research interest in a language other than English.
- experience and/or interest in the delivery of courses through flexible
learning/distance education
LECTURER IN LINGUISTICS
The School of Philosophy, Linguistics and Bioethics is seeking to
appoint a Lecturer in Linguistics in the areas of bilingualism/languages
in contact and second language acquisition. The ability to teach
phonetics and phonology and/or sociolinguistics, and/or child language
acquisition and a research interest in a language other than English
would also be desirable.
The position requires a strong teaching and research record and evidence
of the ability to work cooperatively and innovatively.
The position, Lecturer, Level B in the range $48,399-$57,474, commencing
1 July 2000, is a full-time continuing position, subject to a probation
period.
