Position available: Senior Software Engineer in NLP

Novator is looking for an expert in Natural Language Understanding.We
recently developed software that automatically responds to customer
inquiries over the Web using artificial intelligence and natural
language understanding techniques. Phase 1 of our software is
currently implemented on FTD.COM. Here we automatically respond to
roughly 55% of the comments we receive, with approximately 2.3% false
positives.  The next phase of R&D requires a candidate with strong
Natural Language Understanding skills to take part in the NLP
development.

Technical Knowledge & Experience Required:

As a qualified candidate you have:

* An MSc or Ph.D in Natural Language Understanding,
  computationallinguistics or linguistics
* Sound fundamentals in English syntax and semantics
* Experience in computational lexicography, grammar and corpus analysis
* Knowledge of constraint-based grammatical theories
* Understanding of NL parsing theory
* Experience in applying your knowledge (computational NLP/NLUsystems)
* Strong programming skills in Java or C++

In addition, one or more of the following would be a plus:

* Knowledge of discourse structure, pragmatics, and dialog modeling
* Facility with knowledge representation and other AI tools and
* statisticsbased NLP techniques
* Knowledge of NL interface design and human cognitive considerations
* Experience in natural language generation
