The Linguist Team Leader is responsible for direct supervision of 8-10
in-house linguists and provides editing, proofing, and quality
assurance support on translation projects (40 managerial tasks/60
linguistic tasks).
The Linguist Team Leader has broad experience in formatting, using
localization and language tools and works with firm's linguists to
ensure that quality work is delivered and project deadlines are met.
The Linguist Team Leader consults with internal and external clients
on linguistic issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Effectively maintain a motivated, well-trained, productive team
  through hiring, training, and coaching.
* Train and mentor new linguists.
* Ensure timely and accurate performance and reporting.
* Balance time spent directly supervising team members and providing
  feedback for overall group effectiveness.
* Conduct ongoing management performance and quarterly performance reviews.
* Collaborate with Sales and Project Management to analyze and quote
  project deliverables.
* Edit and proofread technical documentation in your native language(s).
* Provide quality assurance support in multiple languages.

PREREQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

* 3 languages for European/Latin American linguists: native language,
                                                     English and 1 language
* 2 languages for Asian linguists: native Asian language, and English
* Strong computer skills in word-processing, desktop publishing and
  translation tools required.
* Demonstrable translating competency and proven ability to edit and
  proofread technical documentation.
* Strong organizational, time management, spoken and written
  communication skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

* 2+ years proven experience managing.
* Accredited translation school degree.
* Minimum 4 years of translation/localization experience.

CLIENT - Team Leader Reports To:       Manager of Production Services

POSITION PROFILE: The Team Leader is responsible for direct supervision
                  of the Composition Team at Firm. This includes direct
                  employee management responsibilities for 5 to 10 hourly
                  individual contributors, comprised of both compositors
                  and proofers, who work either the day or evening (2nd)
                  shift.
                  The Team Leader must acquire the skills necessary to act
                  effectively as an individual contributor (a compositor
                  creating and converting financial documents according to
                  customer specifications) when work is available and
                  there are no time-critical management tasks to perform.
                  Compositor time vs. management time will be approximately
                  60/40.
                  This position will primarily work a split shift,
                  from 12 noon to 8:30 p.m; however, for management and
                  workload balancing requirements, on some occasions it
                  will be necessary to work the day shift or the evening (2nd)
                  shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Effectively maintain a motivated, well-trained, and productive team
  through hiring, training, and coaching.
* Ensure that the firm team actively seeks out targeted non-English
  composition work from the client's network to meet revenue goals.
* Achieve superior business results from the group in terms of quality and
  volume of output vs. established goals and work standards, productive use of
  personnel, and client satisfaction.
* Ensure timely and accurate performance and reporting of completed work.
* Work with staff, for mmanagement, and CLIENT to evolve highly effective and
  productive processes for handling non-English composition work.
* Balance time spent directly processing client work with the supervisory and
  management task requirements for overall group effectiveness.
* Work with firm management to provide bi-directional communications to/from
  employees and to foster optimal integration of the work group within
  the firm.
* Conduct ongoing performance management and quarterly performance reviews.
* Responsible for creating and editing financial legal documents using both
  proprietary software and personal computer software in a fast turn around
  production environment.
* Responsible for accurate and timely creation, revision, output and
  proofreading of all financial legal documents processed for professional
  printing or electronic filing.

PREREQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

* BA/BS or higher
* 3+ years as a supervisor/manager

JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and motivate a team.
* Strong PC experience and a familiarity with desktop publishing and
  typesetting applications and HTML.
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communication
  skills with knowledge of English composition, grammar and spelling.
* Near-native fluency in written and spoken German required, fluency
  in French highly desirable.
* Minimum typing speed of 50 w.p.m. with 90% accuracy and exceptional
  attention to detail.
* Strong customer focus is a must.
* Ability to work under pressure in a high production environment, to
  perform independently, and interface with co-workers to participate
  in team efforts.
* Legal corporate and securities experience a plus.
* WEB /Publishing Team Leader; Reports To:Manager of Production Services

POSITION PROFILE: The WEB Publishing Team Leader produces timely, quality
                  work for Web/Publishing projects and is responsible quoting,
                  planning, executing and troubleshooting Web projects. The
                  Team Leader communicates firm's Web/Publishing capability
                  to clients and prospects and is responsible for direct
                  supervision of the Web Publishing team of 8 to 10 people.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Effectively maintain motivated, well-trained, and productive team through
  hiring, training, and coaching.
* Ensure timely and accurate performance and reporting.
* Balance time spent directly supervising team members and providing QA
  review for overall group effectiveness.
* Conduct ongoing management performance and quarterly performance reviews.
* Collaborate with Sales and Project Management to analyze and quote Web
  localization deliverables.
* Localize Web sites using Web localization tools
  (QuadSucker-Web, ITP Filter Pack, Localization Image Browser, etc) and
  direct editing of HTML, XML, JavaScript, graphics, and animation.
* Research and recommend new software and technologies.
* Organize and plan all aspects of publishing to ensure cost effective,
  quality, and timely delivery.
* Transfer knowledge to and within firm and effectively present process and
  methodology to customers.

PREREQUISITES/ QUALIFICATIONS:

* Proven proficiency with Web developing tools (Flash, DreamWeaver, NetObjects,
  ColdFusion, etc.).
* Knowledge of HTML, SGML, XML, DHTML, JavaScript, CGI/PERL, C/C++,
  Visual Basic, and Java highly desirable.
* Familiarity with Enterprise level database (Oracle, Informix, DB2,
  and SQL).
* Experience with PhotoShop, Corel Draw, or other graphics applications
  a must.
* Understanding of software production, data management, publication,
  and performance and reliability issues.
* Experience with QA and troubleshooting Web sites.
* Good understanding of the software development cycle, especially QA
  and debugging tools.
* Experience with Unicode standards and MS GUI guidelines as applied in
  international practices.
* Strong organizational, time management, spoken and written communication
  skills.
* Fluency in a foreign language highly desirable; experience working
  with foreign language text encoding, code pages, and double-byte
  encoding necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

* 2+ years proven experience managing a technical staff.
* 3+ years professional experience in Web development.
* BS in Computer Science, Graphic Design, multimedia, or equivalent.
