	Applied Linguistics: TEFL/TESL Methodology and/or Intercultural
        Communication at the University of Kassel, Kassel Germany

Applications are invited for a temporary full-time C 2 - position
(position before full professorship, limited to 6 years) in Applied
Linguistics: TEFL/TESL Methodology and/or Intercultural Communication
at the Department of English and Romance Languages of the University
of Kassel, Germany, effective asap.

The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in a field with
relevance to TEFL/TESL methodology and/or intercultural communication;
have significant experience in the field of ESL/EFL methodology both
at primary or secondary schools and undergraduate as well as graduate
level; be prepared to contribute positively to the development of the
whole program.  The successful candidate will have considerable
experience in second/foreign language research, in curriculum
development and in computer assisted foreign language learning.
Candidates who are native speakers of English are more than welcome.

The temporary professorship will involve teaching responsibilities (4
classes/8 hours per week per semester) in the field designed above,
examination duties (written and oral), advising thesis projects, and
additional appropriate research activities. The successful candidate
will also be expected to cooperate as an editorial assistant for
projects for academic journals. Beyond these activities participation
in departmental responsibilities and activities, e.g. in the English
learning center or in the Kassel English Colloquia will be
required. The candidate is expected to be prepared to contribute to
the department's team spirit, mission, philosophy and
non-discriminating standards.
