Dialog Design Experts, Speech Applications

Description:
As a Dialog Design expert you will be part of a dynamic team that
envisions, creates and optimizes dialogs for Nuance's next-generation
interactive speech recognition systems.

Responsibilities:
·	Consult with internal and external customers.
·	Refine customer requirements
·	Design and refine challenging interactive dialogs for easy-to-use
applications
·	Collect data and perform analysis
·	Perform system tuning

Required:
·	Interest in speech recognition technology
·	Computer-Human Interface skills
·	Excellent written and verbal skills
·	Analytical problem solving ability
·	Thrive in a fast-paced environment

Ideal:
Any combination of the following is a huge plus:
·	BS, MS or PhD combining Computer Sciences and/or Engineering with
Linguistics, Cognitive Sciences, and/or Psychology
·	Familiarity with software industrial design cycle
·	Speech recognition, speech coding, pattern recognition, DSP
·	Software coding experience (Java, Unix, C, C++, NT)
·	Experience with Dialog Design
·	Experience in data analysis and/or usability studies

Summary:

This position is part of the ongoing global expansion of Nuance. You
will create and maintain the Nuance recognition and verification
engines in multiple languages.

Responsibilities:

     Tracking data from deployments.
     Training, testing and releasing new acoustic models.
     Developing pronunciation models and dictionaries.
     Interfacing with Sales department and customers.
     Some opportunity for language-specific R&D work

Requirements:

     Specialization in speech recognition, verification or
     text-to-speech
     Fluent in C or C++
     Scripting language (e.g. Perl)
     Unix

Ideal: Any combination of the following is a huge plus Experience
with telephony (CTI or call center)

     Linguistics
     Multilingual
     Project Management

Education:

     M.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
     M.A. or higher in Linguistics with specialization in phonetics,
     phonology or computational linguistics
