We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Subject: Capital I on Internet

A British colleague in San Diego recently asked me to bet on "how long it
will take for the capital I on Internet to fall by the wayside in general
usage (i.e., in the Economist/Guardian, etc.)." Since prediction is one of
the signs of a real science, may I poll List subscribers for their views?
I'll post the results in mid-April.

many thanks

Can anyone tell me if the model of speech errors developed by Garrett (The
Analysis of Sentence Production," 1975) has been applied to
tip-of-the-tongue phenomena?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
