For Query: Linguist 11.265

Some time ago I had sent out a query about conclusion and
premise indicators.
Thanks to those who responded:
A.F. Gupta
Geoffrey Simpson
Lameen Souag
Elijah Wright

Chinese does have conclusion and premise indicators, as does Arabic and
Japanese.

The following reference was also mentioned:
Li, Charles N & Sandra Thompson.1981.
MANDARIN CHINESE: A FUNCTIONAL REFERENCE GRAMMAR.
Berkely: UCLA Press. Chapter 23 (Sentence Linking)

Thank you once again.

Marianne Washburn
