POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION
IN
SPOKEN LANGUAGE GENERATION AND UNDERSTANDING


We invite applications for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher with a
specialization in phonetics and phonology. The position is for one year
with the possibility of one additional year, pending funding. The
researcher will be expected to take a leadership role in the phonological
and phonetic analysis of a corpus of conversational speech. Candidates
should hold a PhD in linguistics. Essential knowledge and experience for
the position are familiarity with Windows-based and Unix/Linux-based
operating systems and some knowledge of computational speech analysis. The
starting date can be as early as July 15 but no later than September 15,
2000. Starting salary for the twelve-month appointment is $28,000 plus
benefits. Please send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, representative
samples of published or unpublished work, and three letters of
